A little something downtown- FIDM Oscar Costume Exhibit

This is a few minutes drive from Silverlake in Downtown, but it's one of LA's hidden gems that goes on every year for all you costuming nuts out there-

Every year at FIDM downtown, they put on a free exhibit of TONS of beautiful, lavish costumes from the previous years' films, plus last year's oscar winner for Best Costume. It only goes on for about a month and a half around Oscar time, and alas, no photography is permitted (officially), but it's so inspring to see some of these costumes up close and in person.

"The 17th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design opens at FIDM on Wednesday, January 28, and runs through Sunday, March 29. The FIDM Musem & Galleries has costumes from Best Costume Design nominees "The Curious Case of Bejamin Button," "The Duchess," and "Milk." The exhibition is free to the public and features amazing costumes from some of 2008's best films, including the Academy Award®-winning "Elizabeth: The Golden Age."
